Another unique idea is to use 'I Spy' vocabulary bottles to get students to interact with math word wall words. These can be made simply by recycling old clean water bottles, filled with rice or another small object (ice cream sprinkles, glitter, beads, etc.), then adding math concept words on laminated pieces of paper. Students need to shake the bottle, find a math word, read it aloud, and then either:
1. Tell a partner the definition, or...
2. Write their own definition of the word to encourage writing about math...
