Hello! My name is Lisa Brizendine and I am the Title I Elementary Math Specialist for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School district.
I work for the Teacher Professional Development office to help teachers in our district with their math planning and instructional practices. I am originally from Buffalo, N.Y., but have lived in Charlotte for the past 20 years. I have my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education & Curriculum. I also have an additional Master's Degree in Educational Leadership & School Administration through our district's 'Leaders For Tomorrow' Program with Winthrop University.

*Supportive Interaction Academy (focus on coaching within the school setting)
*Andragogy (the theory of teaching adult learners)
*Counting Words & Reading Numbers (integration strategies for math & literacy content; elementary grades)
*Balanced Math (workshop model)
